The Family Histories Podcast
A new episode of The Family Histories Podcast – in which I talk about my family history research and reveal the remarkable story of Great War soldier Sam Roberts – is now live.
The podcast, which has listeners in 84 countries, is presented by Andrew Martin, who has been a family historian for 25 years.
It is one of the most popular shows of its genre – charting repeatedly within Apple Podcasts’ Top 100 Shows for History, within the UK, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Sweden.
The episode in which I am featured – entitled The Lucky – was recorded in September 2022 in the town in which I now live, in Mid Wales.
It includes a detailed account of how Sam Roberts, a corporal in the Devonshire Regiment, lived ‘twice’ in the Great War.
I also reveal the story of James Arscott, an unsung hero of the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, and his ‘lost’ love.
